The 2700X is definitely the better value choice.
Not even closely. Not unless you change to 1080p 240Hz monitor.
Alright that's reassuring, once I make the upgrade to 1440p I don't plan on looking back at 1080p, so I'm glad to hear that.
I do care about performance but between those two configurations (2700x-2080ti and 9900k-1080ti) which one do you think will perform better at 1440p? As in which one would produce the most FPS in most games?
In most games they are the same at 1440p.
Only in games which require strong single core performance, will the 9900K be better.
These are games like CS GO.
I thought about it but since the i7 8700k is almost 500 euros where I live now (thanks shortages) my budget would "only" allow a 1080 ti with that, so I might as well go for the i9.
Alright I'm leaning more towards AMD for now then, I wish I could wait for the next Zen 2 CPUs to make it easier but I've already been waiting for too long and I really want to upgrade before the end of the year.
That's still a good CPU but it would be less future-proof than its 8 cores counterpart, I don't plan on upgrading the CPU or GPU for at least 4-5 years, that's why I'm breaking the bank right now.
