well thats true but i am not that gamer that plays ultra level games i just play mostly horror games and all are fine with that card not bf1 cod ac gamer but true maybe rendering and gaming is alot for this card will do less and buy new
Aye lad, Doom 2016 is a fun one. Gibs, gore and shading in such games can take a toll on performance. I would (and I am sure Monk has already) recommend maybe getting a GTX1060 6GB or better for those games.

DOOM 2016 is "OK"
but DOOM Eternal is pure madness...

here have a look:

Yes you can play DOOM 2016 on a mix of Med/High @ 1080p with GTX 960 4GB or 1050 Ti 4GB; but for it to really shine u want 1060 6GB minimum; cause these newer games really need 5+ GB of VRAM for higher settings, even @ 1080p; not to mention 16GB RAM is basically key to have now.

Does your case have good air circulation/cooling?

No that effects?
Dirty power from low end psu
number of heat cycles
stuff tends to last longer at lower temperatures
and luck

Many electrical components like capacitors are rated for X hours at X temp.

Local technician told me to regularly clean my pc with an air cannister as built up dust in a graphics cards fans will make them louder and put more strain on them decreasing the lifespan of the fans

They can last for years if looked after right, like everything. Iv still got an old 9800gt in an old desktop that still works after years of gaming

Some of my old Bitcoin mining 7950's and 7970's are going strong in PC's I sold to friends/family over the last 6 years. One card was mined on for around 12 months straight with a significant core overclock and is now in a family/gaming PC used every day without a single issue. On the flip side I had a 7600 GT back in the day which got light use and suddenly died one day after about 2 years.

You can't determine hardware life; and light-usage doesn't mean anything in terms of prolonging that either. It will die when it dies. It could get hardly ever used or it could be used 24/7; which will die first is anyonee guess really.

a 1050ti is not a low end card lol just because its didnt come out yesterday, this is the thing i dislike about alot of steam users. they go main stream recommendations and often anser questions with a counter ''OPINON'' but not all of us do that. first a 1050 ti is no where near a low end, thats like saying just because a Ferrari f50 came out in 2000 that its low end and not a super car just foolish! i know people with 10 year old pcs with just an updated gpu running all games on max. and the only thing that will kill a gpu, is overheating, power surge, or over clocking. but with electronic related hardware, i seen brand new gpus, ram, phones and tablets not even work right out the box sometimes. humans arent perfect, so nothing we build will be either, sadly everyone on steam, has a pc prone to dying out any moment without noticable cause.

the nvidia gtx 50 series were always the low end gaming line
gt cards were not for gaming
50 low
60-70 mid
80-90 top
