Xeons also have one other key characteristic that sets them apart from consumer CPUs the configuration of the cache. In a normal CPU it is what we call "N-way set associative tag-ram" in Xeons it is Full-set-way associative tag RAM this is what cache is, it does not actually store any actual code what it stores is tag-ram addresses which are tables of memory locations and where they can be found rapidly. In full-way the CPU knows the address of every single memory location and whats stored there hence "full-set-way associative tag-ram"
