I need help with my Logitech G430 mic
I got my brand new Logitech G430 off Best Buy sale for $27.12 this week, and when I start using it I notice the mic volume is so low in Audacity, in game mic test, and Microsoft setup microsoft test. I am using the 3.5mm jacks instead the sound USB adapter that come with it because I don't like the fake 7.1 surround sound. The speaker and microphone volume are set to max.

Do I have to boost my mic in Windows to 30.00db?
What mic sample rate and bit depth do you guys recommend for mic? I am currently set it at 2 channel, 24 bit, 48k HZ ( Studio Quality).

Best to use the adapter, and disable the surround in the software - or at least give that a try and see how it goes.

Worked for my g430, in my case it eliminated the persistent hiss/static the analog 3.5mm mic jack I was getting

you may not be using the correct mobo sound drivers
get the ones from the mobo site instead of windows update

I also hear static noise when I boost my microphone to 30db. I wiol try the USB adapter.

My mobo is Asus Maximus VII Hero Z97 which uses realtek audio driver from ASUS download page.

The adapter does make it sounds better. What sample format do you use on your g430 mic? Studio quality, dvd, or cd quality?

Do you use 2 channels 48k HZ DVD quality format sample rate on your G430 mic?
