Transcend or Patriot ssd
Anyone ever used any of these ssd brands? I usually prefer samsung ssd, but 40$ sale for 2tb ssd is too good to pass up. I'm wondering if those brands are okayish for data storage.

SSDs use generic components. This is why there are so many companies selling them.

The chips they use will still be from Samsung, Micron or Kioxia (Toshiba) and a couple of other flash manufacturers.

Quality of the drive is something you do not have to worry about too much with SSDs. the only thing you should check is performance, since it can significantly differ per drive.

Look up some benchmarks for the specific SSDs you are interested in, if they exist. If not read the specs on the box or product page.

for $40 I'd just buy it, you can't lose really.

Get it before the resellers grap them all

Transcend and Patriot 2GB SSD are £200* on Amazon UK

Let's just hope they aren't SSDs without a cache, which would explain why they are so cheap.

If it's a simple data grave, then the lack of a DRAM cache won't hurt you that much, but if not, then it can perform worse than a HDD.

DRAM is kinda pointless unless i'm dealing with huge data
