No nonsense PC game controller for Steam games - recommendations pls.

Wired Xbox One controller is dying and am looking for a replacement. Uses USB and have had no problems with it - just plug in and everything is ready to go. Am thinking of getting another one, but are there any other good PC controllers out there that people have had no problems with and would like to recommend? Wired preferable. Thanks.

Any controller from any of the major consoles will do.

So a Playstation controller, another Xbox controller or a Nintendo Switch controller.

The console controllers tend to be some of the best ones you can get.

I've been using a steam controller for years and it's pretty sweet. It's highly customizable and loaded with features. I even use it for my phone. In my opinion it's the best controller ever made. Steam used to have sales for $5 each and that was just like robbing it. I managed to snag two of them in $5 sale years back. The steam controller is easily worth $25-30 though.

xbox 360 controller for me, or DS5. if you play racing games the triggers are so much better than the X1. Maybe i was just so used the 360 pad more back in the day and am so so used to it now. But i cannot get on with the X1 pad in any racing game cos the triggers have no feel and the vibration triggers sucks so bad..

xbox one v/s/x work good
ds3/ds4, dualsense (ps5) is to be working better new
using bt 4.0 or better receivers
logi f710 or steam controller are a good alts

xb series controllers have problems with windows yet and ms has not issued any patch for the controller or os
