Not a bad system. I'd suggest that during the customizing process on their site that you choose the option for Liquid Cooling + 1000W Power Supply.

Yes changing the cpu, cpu cooler, gpu, ram or drives is never an issue with these.

I've been considering the R10 with 5800 and 6800 XT, but the noise and thermals are my concern too. Still haven't pulled the trigger yet.

Id stay away from AMD GPUs and RTX 3090; these all run way too hot in such a tight box.
The Liquid Cooler is for the CPU is fairly quiet though and especially given these Alienware cases are much thicker which helps block most all noise from a liquid cooler pump and any mechanical HDD if you do use any of those.

I've purchased and configured in a custom fashion; plenty of these over the years for clients, and still do today. AMD GPUs are a joke though and always run WAY too hot. The AMD Ryzen stuff is good though but Intel 10th and 11th gen stuff is just as affordable and runs toe-to-toe with high end Ryzen stuff. So for CPU its just a matter of what YOU prefer. You won't really have a major "this is better cause of the name" sort of thing with todays CPUs. As long as you buying one powerful enough to handle what it is you intend to actually do with it.

Just so I know what exactly is current, I did a add to cart test myself, keep in mind I'm doing this from Wash DC, USA... so your results may vary.

Thanks alot!
Most helpful, i dont mind a bit of noise when gaming, as i can wear a headset,
But i will be spending hours a day on it working too (just basic admin programs and web based software) I just dont want it too be too noisy while i work?

I never understood PC users worries about noise. You can always buy better quieter fans. But a liquid cooler pump outputting some noise is normal and all gpus will have noise when gaming unless it's 100% liquid cooled.

Gaming = wearing headphones or using speakers, so you shouldn't hear any PC, period. If so, it's too close to you or you need to use better parts in general.

ive seen a few videos on them and they have quite poor case cooling. i would strip the system of all parts and throw it in a better case.

Thanks for the input, as mentioned i dont mind tolerating some noise while gaming (ill wear a headset for that)
Just not appropriate while i work, for hours at a time. given my work is only basic admin programs i can imagine the load on the machine would be very low and therefore not too noisy i hope?

Well your definitely shouldn't hear the PC when it's idle or just doing light load stuff.
