How do i make my laptop cooler while gaming?
Hi, does anybody know how can i make my laptop cooler while gaming without a cooling pad? It goes up to 90-95 degrees and i dont know why. Recently i sent the laptop to cleaning and they removed the dust. That was like a month ago and its becoming hot again. How can i fix this?

Nvidia GTX 1050
Core i5 8300H @ 2.30GHz
8GB RAM

You can use any HDTV laying around until you can afford a Monitor.

But no, due to how things are right now, a decent gaming Desktop would easily be closer to $2000 or so
Also another problem, im gaming in bed. I have a broken cooling pad so i place the laptop on that so it has some kind of airflow and i use a mouse and a mousepad like normal

Broken cooling pad? It's just fans that go to a small PCB, which goes to USB.
You can buy cheap off the shelf Case Fans of the same size and replace them.
As long as the USB on it still works it should be fine.
Never allow the bottom of laptop to touch your skin, even while on your legs while you are covered in clothing; you can get under-lining thermal burns from doing this, over time.

But as long as the Laptop is elevated onto something study to keep it off a flat solid surface, or any soft surfaces; and stays cool enough under full loads, you should be fine.

Try to undervolt the CPU and perhaps apply a Max FPS Limit; as this will help with heat as it will lower the strain onto your CPU and GPU.

Prop it up on some coasters or books to give the fans more room to clear out the hot air. Then also as crazy as it seems if you have a box fan lying around, you can place that near it or real gamer move, underneath it to get crazy cooling.
Get a 2019 version of intel xtu and undervolt. It's actually quite easy to do. Like you I'm using the i5 8300h and these cpus get really hot. The reason is they have hyper-threading, unlike other 8th gen i5.

Download intel xtu version 6.5.1.355. That version still has undervolt support for i5 8300h, newer versions don't. Run the app and go to the 'All Control' tab. Reduce the core offset voltage to -0.110 and start testing your laptop from there. When you reduce the core offset it will also reduce the cache offset and this is ok. I'm still testing mine but I have it stable currently at -0.140 for core and cache offset. I'm lowering it everyday to test.

Before doing this I was thermally bottle-necked and throttling within about 15 minutes of gaming and it didn't really matter what game. I was literally about to sell this damn thing or give it away I was so pissed. Now it runs like a dream even playing cyberpunk and horizon zero dawn with no thermal issues and full turbo boost in gaming. It used to reach 100 degrees now only 80 big difference!

Cheers

what about fps? will it lower the fps?

Not at all. As a matter of fact you gain fps because your cpu can stay at the turbo clock longer as opposed to throttling thermally and suffering fps loss.
