Requesting help for fellow Acer Nitro 5 users
I've set the NitroSense mode to "balanced", the temperature should be at 68-70s on gaming. but instead the temperature is ~90 degree which should be for "high performance" mode (I've rechecked multiple times and the mode is set for "balanced")

can anybody help me?

If you have the an515-53 like I have, then you have to undervolt the cpu (i5 8300h). These chips get very hot because intel has them equipped with hyper-threading. After undervolting, my laptop no longer gets hot like that. It's also much quieter. It also stays at the 3.9 to 4 ghz turbo clock and is very fast, on par with a desktop 9th gen i5.
I'm using the program called intel xtu. You have to use an older version from 2019 to get undervolt support for the i5 8300h. Newer versions drop support and only let you reduce power to the charging pack.
There's plenty of tutorials on how to use it via youtube. It's literally the best thing I ever did for my laptop.

I had this laptop for several years and checked for the temperature on gaming countless times. so...

thanks for the tip. i've already fixed it. I just reduced the maximum processor state from 100% to 80%

Oh ok, you lose performance that way though. If you undervolt you'll be able to run at 100% vs. 80 and that's a substantial difference. What you are doing is probably the next best thing though if you don't feel comfortable tinkering about. I promise you it's easier than it sounds.
Cheers!
