AMD Virtual Super Resolution doesn't show up.

Hello i have an R7 260X connected to my monitor with adapter from DVI to VGA. I wanted to try better resolutions so I opened AMD Software, entered settings and display tab, but the Virtual super resolution option doesnt show up.

Pretty sure this is why, because VGA is not digital.

The connection needs to be purely digital (i.e. DVI (not DVI-A), DP, HDMI)

And I'm pretty sure that for VSR/DSR the Display needs to be 1080p minimum. Yea your gpu is way to weak to even bother, even if you had a 1080p display using straight DVI-I, DVI-D, HDMI, DP

Minimum supported display spec for VSR appears to be 1366x768 60Hz. But it still needs to be through a digital connection and not analog.

Anyone still holding onto VGA based displays need to replace them. Something everyone should have started to do many years back once HDMI and especially DP became standard. I can't even see buying a Display today that doesn't have DP on it, since most GPUs have upwards of 3x DP on them.

Overall, doing upscaling on a 768p Display would be rather pointless since an RX 260 wouldn't handle much higher if you're using it for gaming. Now just for Windows Desktop, sure why not. But what also plays a big role is; what size is your Monitor?

My monitor is AOC E2070SWN, It's size is 19.5". It's max resolution is 1600x900.

Your Monitro is VGA only so no, many good features won't work or be available to you because of this. VGA died after 1080p TVs came out, it's only used for old PC/Legacy purposes. Anyone using a PC from around 2010 onward should be using HDMI or DP. Modern GPUs since around 2015 or so onward don't even supoort VGA anymore. And the last 3 gens of gpus also killed off dvi since it to is fairly usless, was a bulky connection and doesn't carry audio through its cable.

I have suggested Monitors that have both HDMI and DP on them for many years and it should be obvious as to why. Now if it also happens to have VGA that's nice also, just in case you ever need to hookup an old PC that doesn't have HDMI or DP on it.

This has always helped me also because I run multiple systems in a small space and even when I was using just one Monitor it was fine since it had VGA + HDMI + DP on it. I used VGA for a home server, HDMI for game consoles, DP for PC

Can you suggest me a good and cheap monitor with dvi and hdmi? I would like to play on my Xbox One and also use pc.

a tv will work, most newer tvs have 'game' mode to reduce input delays

Because then you'd have another useless Display down the line as modern gpus only have hdmi and dp on them.

It doesn't cost that much for a 1080p/144hz panel that has hdmi and dp on it, along with maybe dvi and vga for any legacy pc needs should u ever need that, but a display not having both hdmi and dp would be a big mistake.

there are good digital dvi displays out there

check 2nd hand stores, or use a tv if on a low budget
