Selected "remove device" on my controller and now I can't get it back
I'm using a Windows 10 and play some games on it with a Dualsense (the PS5 controller), sometimes when I plug it in the computer mutes itself thinking that the controller is an audio output. I went to my PC settings and found it in the audio section, so I thought that selecting "remove device" would just have it work properly without muting my speakers.

Turns out now the controller doesn't even work anymore. Whenever I restart my PC to plug it back in it will consistently turn on and off repeatedly for a few seconds before not turning back on at all until another restart, so I doubt this is an issue with a USB cable.

Anyone know if there's a way for me to restore my controller? I don't have bluetooth so I can't use that as a workaround unless I buy a dongle for it. Any help would be massively appreciated

Nothing changed when I did those. The Dualsense doesn't turn on at all after the initial disconnect/reconnect stuff when I turn my PC on, and nothing new shows up whenever I scan for the hardware changes when the controller is both plugged in or not

With those symptoms the first suspect on my list would be a bad cable, an internal break in a wire would do exactly that. Test on another machine if possible.

Works perfectly fine on my brother's PC, so it's not an issue with the cable.
Goto motherboard makers site, download updated chipset drivers and usb drivers and reinstall them. (chipset first).

Been looking for them and BIOSTAR is either really good at hiding their drivers or just doesn't have a place to update them, at least for the TB85

Got the chipset, not sure if I need to get the USB driver because it's only for Win 7. Sadly nothing changed.
