ASUS ROG G701VI OC Edition, how much worth today?

Hello, probably its time to update my gaming laptop, bought it on 2017, when GTX 1080 was one of the newest by then. Its an ASUS ROG G701VI OC Edition, really a great machine with the following main specs:

17.3" 120Hz G-SYNC VR Ready, NVIDIA GTX 1080 8GB, 7th-Gen Intel Core i7-7820HK, 64GB DDR4, 2 x512GB PCIe SSD

But how much is worth now? I spent $3,500 but today I think will cost not more than $1,500 as a used machine. No luck getting info from Ebay or other sites..

Maybe like $700 at the top end. Plus it has a 4 year old battery unless you've changed it which is another $150-200 you'd need to spend.

I wouldn't buy it for gaming regardless of the price. It has a very slow quad core cpu, about the same performance as a 10 year old desktop i7 plus an old gpu.

Well, gtx 1080 on laptop is pretty good card still. It may be older, but not a slow one. Just check how it compares to later generations and you could be surprised. Imo from laptop side it was among one of the better deals.

As a consideration for your laptop I'd personally still keep it unless you can't perform tasks you need it for.
