Elgato
I have a elgato and I need a usb 3.0 port to use it but I have none on my computer. Is there anything I could get like a adapter or something?

That says your PC is way too old to even properly use anything from Elgato. USB 3.x has been standard on all devices since approx 2010/11
What are your PC specs though?

Due to the bandwidth required, no.
USB 2.0 is just too slow.

Wouldn't it still work on USB 2.0? Other USB 3 devices do.

If it's a capture device sure. But only for 1080p (in most cases 30 FPS), 4K needs USB 3.
I have an Elgato HD60S and I just plugged it into my usb 2.0 port. OBS doesn't use it on 2.0 and the El Gato Game Capture HD official capture software has a message saying "Game Capture HD60 S Needs To Be Connected To a USB 3.0 Port to Function Properly". So that being said anything higher than this definitely won't work on 2.0 ports.

You could get an adapter. I got one of those PCI-E four port usb 3.0 adapter things. It has 4 ports and that's where I have the Elgato plugged into with three other things.

^Basically this. But I'm wondering of the OPs CPU/motherboard; mostly the CPU, it sounds like either a very budget board or an old build, so even if they have one it comes down to "what's the CPU usage for their games already at?" let alone what the additional strain recording is, unless the device records using its own stuff.

That is true. What are his specs?
OP can of course add on USB 3.x ports via a PCI or PCIE card.
However, again what are your full PC specs. As its fairly obvious that if your PC lacks any USB 3.x ports what-so-ever, your PC is so old that your overall specs; such as CPU and available RAM, etc. would be too old and slow to properly handle 1080p video anyways. Just an example; one of my commonly used old PC that had (since I have retired it already) Athlon64 3700+ (754) was enough for 1080p video playback, but even with a hardware encoder card, would have taken all day to render a rather short video of my own creation. Something that even a Phenom II or FX CPU could render in maybe minutes or perhaps 1 hour or so.

So while you might be able to add on USB 3.x to make your Elgato device work, your PC specs are most likely sorely lacking to make good use of it regardless.

Then you have USB ports on it that are 3.0, 3.1, 3.2...

Most newer Ryzen or Intel based laptops, USB 3.0 is the minimum for each available USB port. It is still backwards compatible with USB 1.1/2.0 devices like Mice, Keyboards, Flash Drives, External Drives and such though.

Can you please link us to the exact laptop; either from the ASUS website, or from the retailer you purchased it from and I can then link the full details specs for the entire Laptop; such as what each port is and such.

Overall I see zero need for you to have any issues. It's not a beefy laptop but that doesn't matter. Every Laptop, Tablet and Phone since approx 2011 or so that isn't bottom of the barrel junk has USB 3.0 on it. Yours may even have USB 3.1/3.2 on it, or Type-C but yes, you have USB 3.0 on there for sure, no question. Here is example of the ports on TUF Gaming FX505 series laptop > https://ekhareedo.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/718rfD5BmtL._SL1500_.jpg
