16 GB DDR 4 400MHZ or 32 GB 2800 MHZ
Which one do you think will be better for gaming and will last more(we are talking about max settingfs 4k+ of course). Which one should we choose when we upgrading our pc?

32 would last longer but you really dont need 32 i run countless apps and google chrome tabs at the same time and ive never seen 12 or more to be used

also clock speed isnt everything what is the cas latency of both sets of ram the lower the better

Anything over 16GBS is basically for bragging rights, you can have 128GBS and will never use all of it unless your launching a space ship

Actually, space ships have way less RAM.
A space shuttle had the computing power of 2 Commodore C64 computers.

It's hard to tell, as both are relatively future proof. Unless you are using an igpu (like the integrated graphics on an Intel CPU instead of a card), I'd suggest the 32gb, as DDR4 will probably be around a while and when games do start using more ram, you won't need to upgrade your ram for a while. RAM speed doesn't matter much when it's just being used by the CPU.

For gaming 16Gigs of RAM is plenty. Anything over it is pointless unless you are using RAMDrive.

I suggest getting DDR4-3000 or higher if you have a Z170 mobo.

That won't be compatible with your current setup.

I have 16gb and i do hit 15gb usage quite often. Thats only when gaming while having a browser open. While it is enough at the moment, i do think that having more than 16gb could be usefull and even required in the next couple of years.

yes if you dont have a 6th gen cpu and mobo you can not use ddr4 only ddr3

Iwill buy new cpu ram and motherboard of course and since dd4 4000 mhz is the fatest memroy currently avaliale tht why i am asking if it will be better to buy 16 gb ddrt 4 4000 mhz or 32 gb 3200 or 2800 mhz

The speed of the memory doesn't matter much if it matches the CPU you're using for memory bus speeds. The quantity of memory matters if the apps you're require more memory than what you have in you system. Please post the specs of your system.

Do the specs really matter? He's using ddr4. Games are eventually going to use (and eventually need) over 16gb. If he was using ddr3, his system would probably need a MOBO upgrade by the time a game comes out that uses more than 16gb of RAM. Getting 32gb now means he won't need to later.

And as you said, unless he's using an iGPU, speed means nothing.
