It can be demnding on your GPU.
If it causes issues with frame rates will depend on your computer & monitor.
It is possible to use a GPU specifiacally for flex if it helps. It is probably not worth it buying one specifically to use as a flex card.
I have gtx 1070 (graphics) + gtx 970 (flex/cuda/physx). It is for a 144 hz 1080p gsync monitor. The gtx 970 is the old card.
Right now I could just use the gtx 1070 for both but it has benefits.
It means I can up graphical effects like anti aliasing to make games look better with the flex load on the gtx 970.
Also I am looking to upgrade to a 2560 x 1080p gsync monitor at some point. The gtx 1070 will likely run around maximum in that situation. For flex games (which I like to play) then a dedicated card will be benefit for me.
It is actually a good system
