It's just the fe versions are out earlier before other companies can create coolers for them and they have a price increase because nvidia sells them directly.
Never buy the fe version unless you get a great deal on them.
I can't put it any simpler than than.
With 1070 cards , Samsung memory is better than micron
in 1070 cards...
There are many posts throughout the web with many people
having a problem with the micron memory 1070s ..
Nvidia has supposed to have fixed the issue with bios updates
but not all manufactures have released it yet..
There is vrm heat issues with 1070/1080 cards as well, which
affect the memory
This is true, read about it recently.
1070's that dont use Samsung memory are having clocking/bandwidth issues that require a GPU BIOS update to resolve.
In any case
FE are just normal reference cards with sucky coolers on them.
I wouldnt bother with FE cards, its not like theyre actually special or anything.
No; that's if they are using Micron VRAM.
Just get EVGA, they never use Micron
As i said, 1070s that DONT use Samsung memory
And even EVGA has a BIOS update
Ya sure? EVGA seem to have a nasty habit of catching fire of late. Certainly their FTW cards.
EVGA isnt exempt
But i do prefer EVGA GPUs over all others
There was just a specific wide spread issue on the 1070 model.
EVGA does use Micron. Everyone does. It's all about sourcing, in bulk. Standard industry practice.
Was that message really worth of reviving nearly 2 years old topic....
Doesn't mean it's wise to revive an old topic.
