AMD A10 Overheating issues... help!
So, i have an AMD A10, but i think since i got it and the cpu before it (AMD A8) it has been overheating to ridiculous levels. Only a few weeks ago i got software to monitor my CPU temps. At idle, my cpu temps are 60-70 degrees Celsius and while playing games like GTA 5 on high, at 60fps, it goes up to like 80-90 and even spikes up to 100!! I am using the Cooler Master Hyper 103 after market cooler. My GPU and motherboard temps are completely fine at like 31 degrees maximum.

Which monitoring Apps? Alot of them are simply wrong when used on AMD systems.

Try AMD OverDrive and see what that says; compare against the others.

When you installed your CPU Cooler, did you remove the clear sticker on the base of the Heatsink? And did you apply fresh thermal paste?

The app i use to monitor the CPU temps is Speccy, but i do believe these to be real readings as when it jumps to 90 or so, the cpu fan spins at full speed. And yes, I did remove the plastic sticker on the heat pad of the cooler and did try fresh thermal paste not 10 minutes ago. I will re download AMD Overdrive as it appears to have been deleted. Thanks for your reply.

Well that can't be correct because the Desktop A8/A10 APUs generally have a max of around 74*C (+ or - 5-10%) Above that the CPU will throttle to prevent overheating; if it still continues to rise, generally the system would shutdown above 80 or 90 *C ranges to prevent actual damage from occurring.

Check your BIOS for any Fan Profile Settings; and that your CPU Fan is not locked into a lower RPM mode/range (like Quiet for example). Allow the CPU Fan to work via PWM (not DC) and then No Fan Preset; on PWM the CPU Fan will auto regulate RPMs in-between it's fully rated range for the connected fan, based around CPU Loads & Temps.

I will look into the BIOS settings. Also, it seems that i can only get like 60 degrees when weight is put onto the CPU cooler. It may also be a defective chip which i hope not. I'll get back to you when i have a look.

Do not apply any further force to the CPU/Board by pushing down the cooler.
If the mounts are fully secure, that is all that should be needed. If you push down on the CPU/Board, you could crack the Motherboard, or flex it too far, causing some un-seen damages.

What about extra Case Fans and also the Fan RPMs for CPU Fan when CPU is under heavy loads?

Can you remove the side panel, take some pictures, and share them?
Like this for example (but higher resolution; as that helps)

Hi, i appear to have fixed the problem, it was caused by 1- crappy thermal paste and 2- Cpu turbo clock was enabled in AMD Overdrive and overclocking was enabled in the BIOS. Thank you for your help. And i have all the available fan mounts occupied by 120mm case fans.

AMD CPUs are prone to overheating.
Downclock the CPU ,and lower the TDP. increase the coolers fans speed. That will generally work
