AMD Equivalent of R9 280x?

What is the current AMD equivalent of the R9 280x/7970? Or has it just fallen off the bottom of the performance scale compared to the latest stuff? I might move it up a notch or two but would like to know about where I'm starting.

The equivalent would be the r9 380x which equals in dx11 but some games the 380x pulls ahead in dx12. The next tier up is the Rx470/80 and gtx 1060 3gb a bit slower than the 1060 6gb in some games.

The slightly older R9 390 still has some bite left in it if you can find one cheap enough and have a capable psu.

Ps, there really is no NVidia 380x/280x eqivilent the gtx970 is quite above the 280x/380x and the gtx960 is overall below.

The gtx 1050ti ^ is below the 380x ^ on some games and equals to slightly over on others..

@Silversun: No, I meant AMD. I went looking for the 280x and it looks like it's discontinued. AMD have a history of rebadging so it's possible it's still out there under another name or if not, there's a newer card with similar performance.

Looks like Upcoast has me covered though.

yeah id go with 470 close to rx480 performance and overclocks well good bang for buck and only 120w tdp

380 I have is similar, uses more power though. Good thing about new AMD cards is low power, 480 only uses 2x 6 pin. Vega seems like its gonna clean house
