Can I upgrade my CPU?
I have an Intel i5 10300H CPU with the Intel HM470 chipset. I havent taken my laptop apart yet and was wondering if i can change my CPU to an i7 or i9. I cant seem to find any compatible CPUs for purchase online

No, it's a laptop, so it's soldered to the motherboard. You're stuck with what you have, my friend.

Exactly. Even if you would know what kind of Motherboard/Socket you have, you still can not upgrade the CPU. You can not upgrade anything besides storage (extra HDD/SSD).
And the RAM if it's socketed and not soldered. Just have to be careful that it won't be incompatible, since a lot of brands like HP will only allow specific DIMMs.

Oh wait, I did not knew that. Thank you for your informative answer!
You learn new things everyday.
Yeah a lot of laptop motherboards have DIMM slots, though some of them can have some memory soldered and also have a DIMM slot, which makes things more complicated because now your RAM has to be compatible with both the board and the other soldered memory.

Crucial laptop RAM usually works.

Probably not and that upgrade would be absolutely worthless and expensive at the same time.
That's a bummer. Oh well, it's sill a decent rig. Thank you all for the support!

techincally it can be replaced/upgraded, but requires bga rework tools
unsolder the cpu from the board, new solder balls, cpu

even then the odds of it working are not great, the mobo bios may not support higher cpus
and the laptops power delivery and cooling may not be enough for the better cpu

better off buying a laptop with the cpu/gpu you need than trying to upgrade it
The laptop might support a Thunderbolt port, which means you're able to install a External Graphics card. You might not get a CPU working but Graphics should work if Thunderbolt is present
don't waste your time, get a gaming PC
I don't think it is worth upgrading, better buy new device
