Aight thanks.
two more questions tho
do they both (fossa&bionic) require same specs?
is there a better linux option with lower system requirements than puppy?
I'll give the laptop to an uncle that's not that good with technology but he needs it to surf the web and send emails and thats about it
Most Linux distros are significantly quicker and lighter then WIndows. I wouldn't worry about system requirements unless the hardware you are installing it on is 15 years old.
I won't even waste my time with anything Ubuntu based anymore.
Most all of the various Linux could run fine and smooth on a Core2Duo 2.4-3.0Ghz w/ 4GB RAM just fine. An SSD helps though, just like with Windows OS.
All you need to worry about as far as hardware support is your GPU and where and how to install that driver. The built in drivers for things like Audio, LAN, WIFI, BT should be fine.
