PS4 controller issues

I got the dual shock controller for my android phone about 2 months ago and it's already stopped working.

After connecting it pretty much immediately turns itself off. Last night I could still use it while the power cable was plugged in, now that doesn't work either. Can the battery be broken already?? I only recharged it 2 or 3 times. Or could there be another explanation?

Don't turn it on, just plug it into USB to charge it up fully first.
Sony DS4 have the LED boxes on them to show you its charging, and when its full.
What exactly are you using to charge it with?
I use Phone wall chargers to charge them, but they need to be good ones that are smart enough not to over-charge the device. Which is why I stick to phone wall chargers from Motorola and Samsung for the most part. And for things like BT devices (audio and input devices) use one that does not exceed 2 Amps just to be safe.

Buy good thick USB cables. Thin ones are mostly all junk.
I buy heavy duty braided USB cables that are Data Sync to I can be sure I can use them for device input/output, not just for charging.

Tomorrow I can try different cables, but I guess I will have to replace the battery. Many people seem to have the same problem.

hold ps until it turns off

to put it in bt pairing mode
hold share + ps until it flashes white

one orange flash when you plug it in to usb = charge full
orange pulsing after you plug it in to usb = charging

if using usb to control, make sure its a usb data cable, not charge only

Must just be a faulty or damaged cable.
ALL USB cables do charging, as this uses the 2 power wires.
Not all USB cables support Data Sync (allowing the controller to show as a device while wired); as this requires all 4 wires. Charge-Only cables are thinner and missing the 2 data wires inside.

Make sure the light is yellow when charging. Or it won't charge.

You can replace the battery easily.

you can use the ds4 controller via bt while charging from a battery bank or charge only cable

Yea I prefer to charge it via my Power Bank which has enough MAH to charge up to 3 devices at the same time at up to 5V 2A each. Of course BT devices don't require much. And my Power Bank has a hefty battery. I could charge the latest Apple or Samsung flag-ship phone like 7 or 8 times on it before it runs low.

This way me & my controller plugged into power bank can sit many feet away from the Display & PC/Game Console and enjoy wireless controller usage via BT while its charging.
