Regarding the MSI MPG Z490 gaming plus
there was a review stating i need a 8pin cpu cable and a 4pin cpu cable does that mean i need to put both of them to turn it on properly? i think my current one only has a 8 pin for my cpu if so will this PSU work https://www.umart.com.au/Corsair-750W-RM750x-80+-Gold-Modular-Power-Supply--CP-9020179-AU_50837G.html it has a EPS12V X2

4-pin isn't mandatory unless it actually says so. That extra 4-pin is more for heavier overclocks.

Your PSU should have enough connectors for 8+4. I would plug it in even though you don't need it, just in case you might.

Sure that PSU had a newer version with slightly different leads. If that's the case and you lack the exact cables you'd need you should be able to get them directly from Corsair.......for a small fee.

oh ok soo ppl say on rededit that mobo only needs the extra 4pin if u want to OC since the 8pin can only apparently do 230V i beleive with a i9 10850k since its tdp is 125W meaning that if i dont put the extra 4pin ill prolly wont reach that 5.2ghz

Entirely likely yeah. I'd just contact Corsair and see if they can supply the extra cable. The PSU is modular after all then proceed without it while waiting for the cable.

That psu should have two 4x4 EPS cables included with it. If it doesn't take it back to where you bought it and get another one. One thing to note is check to see which way the cable connects to the power supply by looking at the cables themselves. They have markings on them telling which end goes where. I made the mistake of plugging in my EPS cables backwards one time but luckily I caught it before I fired up the pc for the first time.

If a cable isn't included, it's almost guaranteed because the PSU isn't rated to handle that much output. It's very unlikely that they just "missed" a cable, more likely that the OP has 2 4x4 CPU power cables and just hasn't tried it.

Pin layouts only fit in one place, so if it fits, it's the right cable.

I have this exact motherboard with an i7 10700KF (overclocked to 5.2ghz) and my PSU is 550w.

Works just fine using only the 8 pin connector.

iirc, PSUs at 750w or more typically have the 4-pin connector but I wouldn't take that as gospel.

You can try with only 8pin

The technical center I call , clearly say me I need this 8+4pin
I don't say my CPU, He have no idea

He say me,
Sometimes you PC won't turn on
Sometimes Yes but maybe you can have some problems later

It is weird

But in my case my PC won't turn on and I need to plug 8+4pin
Elk cloner It work with only 8

I don't know why
