OEM Vs. Intel graphics drivers

Intel has recently started making 'universal' graphics drivers for their graphics cards. also added was the ability switch from the traditional driver model to the new DCH model. On the page for the Intel Driver and support assistant page, it now has a big warning about changing from OEM to Intel graphics drivers. I know one must be cautious in this scenario when dealing with AMD and Nvidia card drivers. Most, but not all Intel graphics cards these days come built into the CPU. If my laptop is using a normal CPU (i7-8750H) is there really going to be OEM customization in the drivers i need to worry about? Am i safe to just go ahead and load the latest driver for the card (1/20/21) or should i just stick to the one from the laptop maker (03/28/18)

intel should know what to do. they say, as you say, that one should use the OEM driver. so choose that one. afaik.

yes, but in this case, is the OEM Intel, who makes the CPU in which the video card resides, or is it my laptop maker (MSI). as far as i know, making any sorts of modifications to the iGPU would mean a custom CPU, which afaik, Intel is not known for.

the oem driver (from oem site for the specific model) will have the correct driver
intel will have the latest one for it

windows update is the last resort for getting drivers
next its better to have a correct but older driver (from oem site or mobo cd if internet is not available)
its best to get the latest correct if you know the exact chipset/driver from amd/intel/realtek/nvidia etc..
