Xbox Wireless Controller Compatible with Steam Link?
Hello, so I just moved my Steam Link box over into my living room as the TV in my room seemed to be causing a lot input lag when playing on it and I just came to the realization that the cables I use for my controllers will not be long enough to reach from where I moved the box to my couch. Therefore the best solution would be to connect the controllers wirelessly right? Yes, but actually no in my situation.

My PS5 controller connects flawlessly to the Steam Link via bluetooth, however my old Xbox One controller seems to not do the trick. So now I'm left trying to figure out what controller I need to get in order for it to connect to the Steam Link wirelessly, but with a quick search on just Amazon alone, I'm seeing many different Xbox controllers with different names and models. There's this one that I stumble across (https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Core-Controller-Robot-White-one/dp/B08DF26MXW), however I'm not sure if it'll connect to the Steam Link over bluetooth.

If anyone happens to be using an Xbox One controller wirelessly with their Steam Link could you please point me in the right direction to the controller I should be getting? Thanks.

i dont think Xbox controllers use Bluetooth which is probably why it wont connect.

ps5 (dualsense) and xbox 'series' controller have issues with the link

you can use ds3/4 and xbox 360 (wired and wireless using a ms receiver), xbone/s/x controllers with no issues

to pair an xbox or ps controller
use a k/m to navigate to the bt menu on the link (before connecting to the host pc, link menu -> settings -> bt)
if the controller is on turn off the controller (hold ps/x for 10-15sec)
to put a ps4/dualsense controller into pairing mode hold share + ps for a few seconds til it flashes white
to put an xbox controller into pairing mode hold ((( + x for a few seconds til it flashes white
to pair a ds3, plug a usb data cable into the link and controller, then press ps til a number light turns on, then unplug it
finally use the k/m to select the new controller on the list, and connect

but if you are getting delays between the host and the link, its most likely your routers wifi or windows settings
make sure windows network is set to private not public
and check router wifi settings, disable wifi isolation
those settings set incorrectly will force the link to use steams internet relays instead of connecting directly

I haven't had any issues so far pairing my DualSense controller to the Steam Link via bluetooth, I think my situation is that I just have an outdated Xbox One controller that doesn't support bluetooth and I need help finding one that does work.

The newer models support Bluetooth, just don't know which one would work with the Steam Link.

to identify if a xbone controller supports bt
look at the face, if the plastic around the xbox button also goes around the sticks, dpad and a/b/x/y then it does
if it goes to the top of the controller to r/l shoulders then it does not

Oh, that was the reason why I can't use my xbox series controller. Sad:torielsad:
