Specs: R5 1500X - RX 560 4GB - 8GB RAM(2666mhz) - HDD - XFX XT 500W 80 plus bronze. Windows 10 1909. GPU drivers are recent. And the only recent change was last night when windows had one of those updates that install when you turn off the pc.
I'm not sure what you meant by space. As in device storage's space or physical space in between the hardware pieces inside the case? I'll answer both: Storage: around 400-500GB. And space in the case: not exactly ideal but it isn't bad neither.
Just to update: my brother played for nearly an hour, he just finished now and nothing wrong happened so far. I'll be checking more tho and see if I encounter any odd behavior.
A windows reinstall is in order I'm afraid. Sometimes there's no way around it. Start backing up and copying things you want to keep and then get a usb drive of at least 8gb free. Then go to microsoft website and download the media creation tool. Run it and let it create installation media. Then boot into your uefi/bios with the usb inserted and choose it for boot drive. Restart the pc and let the new OS install. Proceed to update everything afterwards, restart and check for updates several times over until windows says you're good.
Then go get your radeon software and drivers for chipset and gpu. Install those and restart. Go into the power settings and choose the balanced one if not already set. Your machine should be fine afterwards. You may visit windows update once more to look at optional updates to see if you want any of those.
After that you can proceed to install steam and games.
gpu, psu brand/model age?
if you roll back major windows updates, get the correct drivers again from mfg or chipset makers sites
amd/intel/nvidia realtek etc..
As for the rest. Any conclusions on what could happen? I know I have to do something about it to prevent it from happening again and a clean OS installation is the easy way to go but I mean... last night it was working fine. And now this. And I don't even know what even caused this in the first place. And what makes me furious is that it could all be due to a forced, non optional update. So I'm asking myself "how can I be sure it won't happend again?" It sucks so much. I swear I'm annoyed and I feel frustrated, ha!
Typically when a digital display cable like an HDMI cable is loose, it can distort or fill a monitor with purple hues.
Still, I'm not sure if that explains the purple screen that I got early this day.
Ps: just to update and in case it means anything: I've been using my PC the whole day and didn't get any issue yet.
