ram timings
is 3200mhz with 18-21-21-39 slow ? i wonder because i tried overclocking it to 3600mhz 17cl it was stable while testing the games. But when doing memtest it crashed however i saw an increase of 10-60 fps depending on the game. 2nd question how big of a difference would 3600mhz 14-15-15-35 ram be ?

Yes its "slower" compare to default cl16 3200 but 10-60fps difference? No way not even close. You must have mixed up something.
For the first, that's a bit "below par", yes. Something like 3,200 MHz CL14 or 3,600 MHz CL 16 would be pretty good, with top RAM capable of more, and budget RAM being a bit lower.

For the second question, 3,600 MHz at 14-15-15-35 is pretty good. Currently, standard performance RAM is closer to CL 16 and more budget RAM would be CL 18 at that speed.

Also to add, usually the RAM with the second and third timing being a bit higher, rather than "flat" for the three, is something like Hynix ICs rather than Samsung B-die and similar, which can usually do tighter timings. This is something of a more recent thing that some of the "performance but not top tier premium" RAM is doing, and of course keep in mind lower is always better, all else being equal, but the first one relative to the frequency usually gives an overall indication (i.e., Hynix at CL 16 -19-19-39 will usually be a grade better than CL 18-21-21-42 at the same speed).

second extinction running 3200mhz xmp profile would get me 240-250 in menus ingame im looking at 130-170. Now for the 3600mhz oc i was using 17-20-20-38 menus avg 280 to 290
ingame would get me 180-230. Either something is deeply wrong with this ram or the game loves ram way too much xd

i'll actually do a benchmark of a couple of games with this ram then when trident ram arrives i'll test the difference can't wait for my pc to explode

Do the 3Dmark TimeSpy benchmark before and after then compare.

3200 CL18 is horrifically slow -- CL16 is the common standard for 3200 MHz and an easy goal for 3600+ MHz.

3600 CL18 is equally as fast as 3200 CL16 in many workloads and games, but in some cases the higher frequency can allow it to pull through with better results; higher latency numbers mean slower timings.

speed / cl
170 and lower is generic
170-200 = good
200+ = performance

3200 / 18 = 177 is on the low end of good, slightly above generic/oem ram

3200cl16, 3000cl15, 3600cl18 are all going to be very close in performance

most ram kits do not like to be overclocked, just pick the xmp profile for the best speed/cl ratio
