ram to a much lesser effect since they are about 1/8 the size of a cpu substraite
and it would only break bga solder balls, not damaging the cpu or other component
Anyone who considers normal use damaging is probably operating on imagination rather than actual knowledge.
Forcing the system to power off or forcing an instant restart with the reset button may cause problems but will not physically damage the system.
When you force shutdown or force restart a computer, the computer may still have unfinished business in the background so when it does not have enough time to stop these processes properly, it can lead to problems such as data corruption.
