Even if you don't get the full 120 or 144 fps but managed to get only 90 to 100 fps, It feels lot smoother than 60.
The only time I wouldn't go for 120 Hz/144+ Hz over 60 Hz if it meant having to choose 1080p or having to choose TN. I'd (personally) trade refresh rate over those factors. But, if you can afford higher refresh rate on a panel that otherwise meets your criteria, yes it's worth it.
even 90fps is a huge improvement IMO.thats the mark i set for building a new
system dropping below 90fps with high settings in game @1440 res
144hz desktop looks smooth even using intel hd or vega igpus
but games on those will look like crap vsync will stutter some, or non sync will have tearing
and it does this cool rotate thingy
