Do you think we still Need antivirus softwares?
So I used to have a bitdefender subscription and last year I didn’t renew it, I’ve been seeing a lot of people saying that windows defender is more than enough and that it evolved into a reliable antivirus so what you all think? I’m currently lost on weather I should get one or stick with good ol windows defender.

It used to be that Defender was so bad that you needed an alternative just to disable that garbage from slowing down your computer. And on top of that, it used to barely work.

That is no longer the case. No need to get third party AV for most typical users.

It depends what you do with your machine.
For me, windows pretty much only for games.
Some basic web browsing when necessary, to maybe download drivers.
I use firefox and use the ublock origin, https everywhere and noscript add ons.

For everything else, well there is linux.

So for me the basic windows firewall/antivirus setup is fine.

Been using Webroot for 8 years now have never had a virus.it never interfered with
any games, software or programs.very small footprint.set it and forget it.
