poshukach? did i get rid of it?

Hi, so to keep it simple, i recently found i had the "poshukach" search engine hijacker thing, so i just formatted my laptop (idk if thats what its called, basically took it to a computer shop, they deleted everything and redownladed windows 10).
i cant find much about this hijack virus online so my question is, it should be gone for good right? i didnt have an email logged in on chrome or anything before that and i think the software didnt spend more than an hour on my laptop.
i was planning to format my laptop either ways so some people might say it was unnecessary but my laptop needed one either ways.

If it was a drive wipe + format + clean OS install > yes its gone, like any virus would be.
Only some rare viruses that can affect the Drive MBR are the kinds that could still remain after a simple reformat.
