Switch Pro Controller, battery depleted fast, power off problem?

I have two Switch Pro Controllers, one for my Switch, one for PC (or two for one system if I play with a friend).

The controller synced to my PC gets depleted fast. I recharged it and it was depleted in about 4 hours...instead of 40. I connect it via an 8bit Do adapter...after playing I switch off the USB port the adapter is connected to...I am not sure if the controller powers off automatically then?

What do I have to do to power it off?
