gpu still sagging despite having a holder under it
the fans don't spin but after a short while i think that it's getting warm, also there is no video output, i have made a makeshift holder under it from thick gum and in the back of the case the pci slots don't move, could anyone help? it's been working fine yesterday, no graphical glitches at all

Most GPU fans don't spin until hey pass a certain temp. Unless your gaming a card may not even turn them on at all.

i don't think it's the case with a gigabyte r9 270x though, it was spinning the fans all the time and also was 50 - 51 degrees at most when running csgo / gmod

Any modern GPU I've had has fans that don't turn on till 50 or higher so it's still a possibility.

50-51 is not a high temp. Use MSI Afterburner and crank the fans up while temps are still low. Doesn't need to be 100%. 10% when temps 20 or 30 will atleast show you if the fans are working.

the gtx 1xxx series and later have a fan stop in their fan profile setting, it will stop at low/idle when cool

sagging is normal, a pcb can flex quite a bit before any damage is done to it

the only problem is the pci-e slot on the mobo, some will tear off the board with too mush stress for too long

if you have a support and its sagging a little its fine

tear down the build
pull the mobo, look at the pci-e slot
if the connector is lose from the board (any flex on it), its damaged and you need a new mobo or cpu/mobo/ram combo

Sounds like it need a gra. It is a bra for gpu

Whats your mobo? Does it by any chance have other pcie slots that you could try?

it's a msi 970a g43 and has 2 slots, though i can't use the other one because the gpu won't fit between the wall and the hdd slots

i would move aside the HDD slots or find another pc you can test the card in.

Taking the motherboard out of the case would work too, but its more work.

But its the only way to test if the first pcie slot is damaged.

if you are using that with a fx8, throw it away and get a better cpu/mobo/ram combo

msi had the worst boards for am3/am3+
very weak mosfets for the vrm, with no thermal protection
most had weak vrm config with poor cooling

https://us.msi.com/Motherboard/970A-G43/Gallery#lg=1&slide=1

4+1 with 4 mosfets per phase no heatsink on them

Pretty much every GPU since RX 200 series and GTX 700 series does this.
There is simply no point in the fans running and wasting the bearing life span when the GPU is not hitting above 55-65*C
