If you get no display then reset your cmos to default values and try booting with the gpu. Check psu cable and make sure it plugs in and seats all the way.
And don't forget to reset the cmos to rule out mucked up bios settings.

you dont need a 10th gen intel cpu to destroy fx8 performance
just sayin it may not be the gpu thats damaged
if its sagging alot, it can tear the pci-e x16 slot off the board
have you tried other gpus?
fx8 is ancient, what was your previous gpu?
