Acer Nitro 5
I have a AN515-53-52FA model with an Intel i5 8th gen and gtx 1050. I'm wanting to upgrade to 32 gb of RAM and add a Samsung 980 pro 250gb SSD , does it go from single to dual channel memory automatically or do I need to change it manually?
Also any advice on the ssd upgrade after I install it would be appreciated.

Yes that's what I'm doing with my nitro 5. I would get a sata ssd so it doesn't share pcie lanes with your graphics.

Thank you so much for the reply. It will accept both sata and pcie ssd?

With 10 Windows ssd, the pc finally flies!
I had a sandisk ultra. It was really fast. I gave it away though and now im stuck with a 2tb firecuda sshd. It's alright, I have twice the space and i made someone really happy. I notice the speed decrease though sshd vs ssd.
Sandisk ultra, samsung evo 860 those are some i've used and they are good.

Dual Channel is automatic. It's the XMP that you must enable in the bios, as is needed to do as an easy means of the bios in-turn applying the correct settings for dram frequency, timings and voltage.

But with an 8th gen i5, it's rather pointless to use such an expensive ssd as it would barely use it at its full speeds. An 860 EVO M2 or SATA sdd would be plenty.

What drive model is your OS installed to now?

I ended up getting the 860 Evo, But my os is currently installed on the stock 1tb hard drive. How do I access my bios?

Usually by hitting F2 or Delete key during POST.

No need yet. First go into Windows, install Samsung Apps from their ssd website and do a hdd to ssd clone. Once cloned, reboot enter the bios and change boot options so it only boots to ssd. Entering bios should be delete key or F12 as soon as you power on the system.
