http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
cpuz -> validate button -> submit button
it will open a browser, copy the url (address) and paste it here
will show what the specs are
if the laptop has 1 dimm, get a matching dimm
if both are populated, you need a new kit or larger dimm with the same spec
different sized dimms will run in mixed mode instead of dual ch
(dual speed for 2x the smaller dimm size, then single ch speed for the remainaing ram)
ram speed is rarely limited by the cpu, the imc can run much faster than its rated from amd/intel
check what the mobo ram speed limit is
You'd need to first open the laptop and check the PC4-number <- this is actually important
boot to bios, f2 or f10 on most laptops at the oem logo/spalash on startup
(should say in the bottom corner)
then the memory, pick xmp profle for 3200
you can get a similar ddr4 sodimm 3200 (check cpuz spd tab to see what its profile for 1600mhz cl and voltage are)
this looks to be the best cheap one 8g 3200 cl18 1.2v
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/rTPKHx/gskill-ripjaws-8gb-1-x-8gb-ddr4-3200-memory-f4-3200c18s-8grs
speed can be higher, cl can be lower, voltage can be lower
Can you affirm if the chip I posted should be fine?
