GPU for ETS2 (triple screen)
Hi sorry, I see that it crops up a lot, I'm not exactly computer literate. Am I right in thinking I cannot get my gameplay across 3 monitors with my current Intel hd 4000?

If so could someone advise me on the best gpu to buy to achieve this please. I am purely trying to set up to play ets2 and nothing else

Any advice or idiot proof step by steps greatly appreciated

Spec is
Dell optiplex 7010
Intel core i7 3770 could @ 3.40 ghz
16gb ram
64 bit
Gpu Intel hd graphics 4000

Assuming 1080 monitors, you're looking at a resolution of 5760 x 1080. That's less than 4k, so any gpu that plays the game at 4k should be sufficient. It's hard to recommend anything right now because nothing is in stock and prices from resellers are all over the place.

GTX 1070, 1080, 1660-S at the very least.

Thank you all for your patient replies, the closest I have on offer near me is a gtx 1060 so I guess I will hold out

2 things would be :will your power supply handle a gpu ? if stronger PSU will fit your DELL case ?

Dell are known for doing things their own way which makes some upgrades difficult or impossible.

Learning and spending step by step, I have already leaped and have a gtx 1660 s coming tomorrow as I've learned that as my case is sff I may have issues! I may have to save for a larger case and motherboard and build my first pc

As I'm here showing off my incompetence, can anyone advise me on my next step, I feel my power supply will not be sufficient and that my case/motherboard will not allow an upgrade. Recommendations welcome

Just my 2 penneth ( nothing more)

It being a Dell I would not be surprised if they had removed the PCIE slot on your Mobo.
The PSU also may not have available 6+2 pins to power the card even if the psu had enough wattage.
So you would be correct in your assumption of PSU problems. .
Getting one ( psu) to fit in their cases will cause you pain.

You may well be best off looking for a cheap new ATX case ( preferably one with fans included) . and a circa 500w psu .
Of course the better the quality of PSU the longer they last and perform more consistently . No need for modular. For your set up bronze will be more than adequate.

Should you go the new case route . You would be advised to invest in a proper cpu cooler.

Should you need a new mobo. Then you would be best build a new PC from scratch. and use the optipox as a secondary device.

Good luck
The OptiPlex 7010 comes in different form factors. Only the Mini-Tower[downloads.dell.com] variant has a motherboard that offers a slot for a dedicated GPU.
Page 55 and subsequent list the specifications of the different models.

The PSU does not deliver enough power for a 150W TDP GPU.

1060 is more for 1 screen at 1080p, nothing more.

Look into a used 1080 Ti

The SFF Optiplex 7010 has a slot for a GPU aswell.

Yes but the Mini ones would require using a half-height GPU, to which are all junk for games.

If going to buy something like like a Dell OptiPlex to come away with a budget PC, buy one that has the full size tower. Otherwise you'll want to remove the guts from the mini PC and put it either an ITX or MicroATX case so regular sized GPU and PSU will fit.

I'd use a better PSU. Unless somehow that's a decent gold certified 450 watts

A game on a triple display will be drawing much more than a on a single display, which costs performance, so you can't just compare on pixel count. It's still possible 4K might be more demanding than 5760 x 1080 in some situations (the former is basically four 1080p screens and the latter is three), but not having to draw ~66% of the scene can make a huge difference too.
