Graphics are rdna 2 based like a Radeon 6000xt.
It's pretty much like a PC but using custom built parts.
I looked at a lot of footage online and I could only find 4k 30fps for Xbox series x and rdr2. I couldn't find 4k 60fps. To get 60fps you have to play in 1080p I think.
consoles are also sold at a loss and make up profit in service and games sales
comparing the hardware is pointless, console is designed to run game using fixed hardware at fixed settings
pc runs a heavy os with a wide variety of hardware and settings
i looked upclose to examine the pixels and its real 4k, sometimes it upscales a bit on certain scenes but its so unnoticeable from afar im impressed.
I forgot to mention very quiet, my computer is louder then the xbox during gaming.
It makes me wonder why its taking so long for manufacturers to engineer parts like this this for the PC scene..
The performance is similar to a $1500 computer and despite that the noise is non-existent.
Even a high end PC still makes more noise then this.
I just don't understand why manufacturers can't get hardware to this level and price point. I thought paying more means better, but the Xbox has took that PC hardware ideology out of my head.
Im trying to find an engineer that can explain how this is possible
they use igpu, cpu/os/game can write directly to igpu ram areas without first sending the info to the gpu, and many other tricks to gain some fps
again, no way to compare them directly to pc hardware specs or performance
In addition to the CPU and GPU, I believe it has 16 GB of GDDR6 RAM (yes, GDDR), which is shared between the system for RAM and the GPU for VRAM. The storage is a PCI Express 4.0 SSD, which can use compression to reach higher speeds (mostly relative to PCI Express 3.0 drives).
In addition, one CPU core (and probably its thread) are reserved for the OS AFAIK.
I imagine economy of scale also keeps costs for consoles lower.
For the price it does the job and I'm happy with it.
3700x with lower clock speeds.
16GB shared between GPU and RAM
GPU compared to a RTX 2080 or the upcoming 6600XT.
And 2.4Gbps NVMe
Keep in mind they're selling these consoles with a huge loss, but most of the profit is coming from games and subscriptions.
it has a slot for a 2nd m.2 drive, but its not enabled
