Windows 11 TPM question.....
My PC is 9th gen intel with a Z370 motherboard. Windows 11 PC-Health Check tool says My PC is not compatible with Windows 11 because its missing TPM 2.0.

So my question is, Is TPM just a motherboards factor? If i buy a more expensive motherboard, will i get TPM? How do i know if a motherboard comes with a built-in TPM or not? I have gone through some motherboard's specifications in their website but didn't find any mentions of TPM anywhere. Thanks.

TPM is a chip on the MB. W11 will require TPM 2.0. I wonder if it can be added via a PCI slot. Could they add it to a new CPU for older mommy boards?
@Out Of Bubblegum , did you read the article ? it hints harware module will be out of acceptance !

There's another way for those of you who are sticking with a desktop PC powered by an older CPU not included in the list do have a way of fulfilling the TPM requirement using a discrete TPM 2.0 module that can be attached to your motherboard, but Microsoft won't "officially" support your configuration. The company also doesn't recommend pairing a TPM module with a motherboard that only uses a legacy BIOS implementation, as some features may not work as expected.

You are correct. I did not read that far. It is not a concern for a couple of years.

Here's the supported processor list: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/design/minimum/supported/windows-11-supported-intel-processors

Google to check everything else, by now every tech site has an article about enabling secure boot and tpm.

I know my cpu is supported for windows 11 since my motherboard has tpm 1.0 i can't download it but i heard that intel cpus has a thing called ptt if my cpu and motherboard supports it can download it i hope my cpu and motherboard supports ptt

Open your bios and check if you can enable it or if it's there. You can also check device manager under “security devices(?)” to see if tpm is enabled.

I wish i wasn't scared of the bios menu
It’ll be fine, you’re just looking around. If you change anything you’re not sure of, just don't save the settings on exit.
