BootCamp games on Win10 running soooooooo slow
I purchased a new iMac 27 inch 24Gb, Radeon Pro 5500 XT, i7 - 3 weeks ago and have installed BootCamp but BF4 and Sniper Elite 3 run soooooo slow then quit. I wanted to buy some more up to date shooters but if they're no gonna run, what's the point? All my games ran fine on an old Mac Pro 2009 on BootCamp so not sure if I've missed something? Any suggestions much appreciated.

Check all your drivers on the Windows installation.
Update them manually.
Do not rely on Windows to do that for you.
Thank you Cat. I am a complete novice re Windows especially Win 10. Where do I start?
Go to amd.com and download the latest drivers for your Radeon 5500XT.
Thanks Snakub, well I did that, and ran the installer and it says no AMD card can be found, error 173. Which is odd as there are in the Bootcamp Windows Support folder an AMD setup exe which says the same. Is Big Sur to blame? Pain in the butt.
Yes, good call, I'll try that Cat, thanks.
YOU guys are spot on. Success. Obviously Apple can't be bothered to download decent drivers for their own machines. Thanks to all.
As an update to this. On Bootcamp parition on internal drive, this solution worked perfectly. On an external SSD Bootcamp running the same Win10, and the same driver from bootcampdrivers.com, the iMac thinks I have 2 monitors. Any thoughts guys?
If you did not manually install the Drivers for Motherboard Chipset and Graphics Card; you need to do that, always.
Thanks Bad Motha, appreciate that. I installed the AMD driver but not the chipset. I have no idea how to get that. I resumed Apple would have done that with its Windows Support install?
Don't run BootCamp; just install the very latest Win10 64bit 21H1 to a drive directly.
OK, thanks for that.
