Best remote or remote app (on old phone) for a media center pc ?

Want to be able to use my second screen (projector) with a remote instead of having to use my keyboard and mouse all the time for it to watch movies and tv shows.

or you can use link app on any android/apple phone, pi, tv with apps to connect and control a host pc

The Roku app is the only one I know of that has a remote capability, great if you have a roku device connected to your projector...

otherwise a wireless keyboard as mentioned is the best bet, I use a logitech K400 for my media center
