Linux recommendation for htpc?
Hi, my plan is to build up a second pc with spare parts like a first gen ryzen to use it for my tv instead of using my current gaming pc. I consider to use linux, but the thing is I have 0 clues about linux and there are so many distros. I revived my old laptop recently with lubuntu, but that is my only experience so far
So is there a distro you can recommend me? Or are there tips in general I should know? I just feel stupid looking at all these different distros lol

I stick to Lubuntu or Xubuntu. Though I might go back to original Ubuntu since they finally got rid of Unity.

A lot depends on UI you like. You can view videos and run browser on any desktop distribution without issues.
I personally use mint/cinnamon.

for an HTPC? you'll probably want a kodi-based distro then, kodi is basically open source HTPC/media center software that runs primarily on linux.. LibreElec is a popular distro for that.

It's a modern machine so it can easily run anything.

If you want a full desktop experience;
- Ubuntu
- Ubuntu Budgie
- Kubuntu
- Linux Mint

You can install Kodi on any of these distros if you want something for only watching Youtube and Netflix.
