The motherboard is often overlooked, but the quality of the motherboard (and more so the VRM capability/quality) limits what you can do with your cpu / other peripherals.
You won't be able to use that mobo to oc.

Also how do you update the i5 4670k drivers?

go to the mobo site for correct drivers, then windows update can get the latest version of them
(by default windows will grab a version that is not correct but 'works')


imho, go with a newer cpu/mobo/ram combo instead of trying to find a board for the cpu

9700k has 8 cores, no ht
each core is faster than the 4690k and with higher turbo, in the z board can oc farther

Ok thanks I will look in to it,I am getting fps drops in csgo is there anything I can do to improve it until I get new hardware? I have already turned down all my settings on low and I have a geforce msi 1050 4gb graphics card,I feel I should be able to get a stable 120 fps but it keeps dropping all the time,

fps drops can be due to temps or background tasks

ti could be drivers, but i wouldnt expect holding high fps with the 1050 unless your playing at 720p or lower

the cpu temp is saying 95 on speccy when I'm not even in a game

without more details, some more suggestions:

leave the side panel off and see if temps drop (if a case airflow issue)

if the cpu fan is dirty / clogged with dust might be time to bring it outside and hit it with a leaf blower or something

remove / reinstall the cpu fan with new paste

cpu fan upgrade like the Gammaxx 400[www.amazon.com] not sure what you have in there already, if you have the stock cpu fan this would improve temps quite a bit
