so why is it on BuildaPC Subreddit , PCPartpicker , Tomshardware and LinusTechTips Forums all recommending the RM850x. You calling those experts liars?? You tell me a good power supply then?
For power supplies in the UK anything from EVGA and XPG seems to be reliable.
the two I have had work great.
Just to troubleshoot run the game at Full HD
That's how I feel about Western Digital, so I only use Seagate now.
ill take your word on it ill RMA the RM850x and buy an 850w EVGA Supernova then lol
cant go wrong with Seagate. i have two 8TB Ironwolf drives in my PC for months now
You were just unlucky . Also depends on the cost .
edit
EVGA is a good brand but they make gaffes too . Recently several EVGA RTX 3090 bricked due to bad soldering . Years age EVGA launched a GPU with copy paste heatsinks and it did work bad ! But EVGA learn and improve . They are a good brand .
I couldnt afford a Corsair PSU and wanted to get EVGA but ended up with another brand because the shop didnt have EVGA PSUs at that moment . Even now i d buy EVGA prudcts despite recent gaffes .
ddu wipes everything driver related and driver settings that might be causing the issues
Not saying that their PSU's can't break. Sometimes you'll get unlucky of receing bad unit. If this keeps happening, just send it back and exchange it with a working one.
one thing im going to try first is use 2 8 Pin PCIe Cables for my 3080. because i heard it isnt a good idea to daisy chain on a 3080. So using 2 PCIe Cables to the 3080 might solve the problem. ill try it and test and see how it goes. if not ill buy a new PSU.
Daisy chain is never a good idea on power hungry GPU's. Might be one of the reasons why your systems shuts off because the cable ran too hot. Daisy chain will work up to 225w. Because one cable can pull up to 150w and the PCI-E slot does 75w. So GPU's that draw less will work.
