Vsync doesn't work in game, or in Nvidia control panel.
So today for some reason Vsync stopped working completely in every game I play. I usually toggle it on in game, but I decided to force it on in the control panel. That didn't work either.

I literally have no idea what to do. It's such a weird issue.

Clean install driver, if this is after a new driver update roll back to previous.

Tried that already. Didn't work.
If it's not working anywhere, it sounds like it was forced off somewhere at a global level, and if forcing it on in the control panel and reinstalling drivers doesn't fix it, I'm sort of lost as to what it could be.

Does nVidia Inspector work (if the control panel isn't it probably won't)?

Scan system files for errors, update chipset drivers from mainboard maker, reboot and then clean install gpu driver again.

As an afterthought, if hibernation is active disable it. The windows hibernation file is not needed and it can cause all sorts of odd issues.

try a restart, not default shutdown/hivernate/wake

also disable hibernate and/or windows fast startup so shutdown actually shuts down instead of hibernate

You never said you were using win 11, its still a beta release i believe and will have odd glitches.

Do not run Win11 yet unless you are willing to put up with glitches and be a free beta tester.

^ this, ms should be paying people to be beta testers not accepting free ones

buggy software should be less than free

Hello! This happened to me, and there are older games that cannot be run with vsync by default. The situation is much worse for me, because on my laptop for some reason if vsync is not turned on, the picture is so disintegrated that it is unbelievable. And the funny thing is that I wanted to make a recording of this, where I recorded the image at 60 fps, and nothing is visible here. Much more continuous than what I see. I don't know what causes this, because these games run perfectly on the laptop with GTX 960m. Except since this problem appeared... I tried to reinstall the driver, completely deleted it, installed older ones... There was a moment when it was fixed, but after a restart, it broke again and hasn't been good since then.. I currently have WIN10... It still works with WIN11 on the home desktop... I don't like to reinstall Windows, so if someone knows a solution for this, feel free to write it down. Oh, and I've also downloaded the NVIDIA APP, where you can force it in the same way as in the ctrl panel, but it doesn't improve either... The control panel displays a message that from here on certain graphics settings are handled by windows, if I click on it, I can specify which gpu the 3d programs should be run with... if I put the game there, it doesn't work either.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
