How to set disc autoplay for an emulator? PCSX2
Hello! So i started buying old PS2 discs to play on a new disc drive i bought. Is there a way I can set the disc to automatically open PCSX2 to with the playstation 2 game launch intro or play iso and bin files on a disc automatically when inserted? Game is marvel vs capcom 2.

Or setting the autoplay to run the emu on disk loading

Not sure if its even able to autoplay
Should probably search for it, if theres a way to do it someone probably put it out there by now.

1. We are not allowed to talk about emulators here. I don't understand why, because the roms are the problem and the emulator is perfectly fine, but i digress.
2. It would really surprise me if there was no copy protection of any kind on ps2 discs.
You could of cours homebrew your ps2 and rip the games from there, but i am no expert. Only modded my wiiu :steammocking:

talking about emulators is fine
sharing game roms or p-rateing is not

best to ask on the pcsx2 forum

but seriously its only 2 more clicks to run pcsx2 and pick the odd drive to play the game from disc

It is still tentative violated a copyright, but it is low risk if you owned original copy and that format is no longer reasonably available.

Asking if can automatically launch program, and run game via emulator when insert disk into dvd drive, not likely, you have to make an auto run script that always running, and checking if you inserted a disk, that calls out to emulator, as well auto run command to tell emulator to auto run.

Or could just make shortcut of PCSX2.exe, and run that instead and add commands in the target to launch whatever that in your dvd drive. You have to run this shortcut everytime when you put in a disk. Ask on the PCSX2 forums for more help on this.

I once talked about emulators and got banned for it. I didn't even mention anything about downloading illegall roms, or ISO's.

As long as you use the original Media its not illegall.

Years ago Sony was making **** storm when people made emulators, and even backing up their game disks so they don't wear out, and Sony couldn't win agasint them, Nintendo was going after sites that were hosting ROMs.

Short of it comapines were on edge of people talking about emulators, because if someone were to use platform to share files, or links to priate content, of course that would be a major red flag, and can get person a warning, or even temp ban. When more people became aware what emulators are, and how they worked, they ease a little, but still on edge about them because of Sony, and Nintendo basically as I wouldn't put anything pass them looking to sue any company they could if it was caught supporting pirating their IP's really.

That why we only limit ourselves to talk about things, if one want to talk about thing beyond that have to take that somewhere else as this isn't the place.

probably not a better time to crack down on it again since covid left a lot of people broke and with less money to spend, and gpu prices being so high people can't play the newer hotter stuff anymore.
