SteelSeries Arctis 5 & 7
I cannot figure this out. These two headsets will not update.

I've tried all I know to try. SteelSeries tech support has been trying to help me since 8/15/21. Nothing that they suggest, works.

I bought an Arctis 7 thinking the 5 was defective, I guess it's not. The Arctis 7 does the same thing. : /

I have Arctis 7 - quite disappointed with the quality (physical build quality - not the sound quality), microphone is not great, charging is non-intuitive (can't charge from anything but the cable it came with), the battery status led doesn't change colour despite being fully charged - stays yellow.

I'm not surprised you are having an issue as well.. SteelSeries Arctis is over hyped and overpriced

Make sure its plugged into a rear motherboard usb port, make sure the port provides power during power off. Update chipset, sound and usb drivers.

If the battery stays yellow its not fully charged, it needs to be plugged into a port that provides power during machine shutdown, then leave it overnight to give it plenty of time to fully charge up, (it should only take about 2-3 hrs at most).

I charge mine with whatever usb cable fits but you must make sure the port provides power. Also there are some instances where they will not register charge status if they are unplugged while machine is not running. To fix that do not unplug from charging cable until windows is booted fully.

sounds like incorrect chipset/mobo/usb drivers

get the correct ones from the mobo mfg/model site

It isn't a charging issue, though. If you look at the screenshot, it is a firmware update issue. It will not install the additional software needed for DTX surround and such. I should have stated in the bump post that I sent my logs to SteelSeries and they said it does show an error. They said they are working on a fix but they do not have an ETA. I just bumped the thread to get some more input.

I would follow same steps, update chipset, sound and usb drivers. I have the arctis 7 wireless and am using latest gg software and update is/was not an issue thats why imo its probably a driver issue.
