Migrate OS to ssd?
Hi there! I trying to figure out how to move the whole of my windows 10 from my 5 year old 500GB ssd to my 1TB ssd. Is there an easy way to transfer the files onto my 1TB ssd or do i need some sort of 3rd party program???

Well I hoped it wasn't more then maybe $10.
But regardless of what dock, enclosure or adapter cable you use to connect your drive, you will still require Cloning Software to actually do anything.

Nope. You don't need software and the docking station does that for you. I paid £30 for the docking station. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TCFXZ6OreA

If you have a Desktop and not a Laptop; you don't need to pay a penny more then what the Drive costs; as you just connect it internally and boot from the current OS Drive, then install the free clone software from the SSD maker and clone the current OS HDD or SSD over to the new SSD. Then reboot and boot solely from the new SSD.

Shouldn't have to buy anything to do this. Why would you.

Now if you cloning via a Laptop and a Laptop is your only PC, and that Laptops OS Drive is SATA, then yes you might need a SATA to USB 3.x adapter cable to you can clone to new drive whilst it's connected externally via this adapter, which is maybe 5-10$ for that adapter. Then once cloned, simply swap out the old drive for the new and boot from the new. If the Laptop came with only a SATA HDD, SATA SSD, or M2 SSD; and you have another M2 slot available, you can install a new SSD into the 2nd M2 slot and clone while its connected internally.

Is Macrium reflect free good and safe to use???
