most boards can run ram in mixed mode with 3 dimms
dual ch for the pair, using that first, and the single dimm in single ch only used when the dual ch kit is full
If using 8GB, the next logical step is 16GB (2x 8GB)
HyperX Fury RAM is very hard to find anymore though.
If you can't get the same stick, put the new one into a different slot pair.
You'd be better off just saving your $ until you can get an identical 8GB stick
