[HELP] BenQ Zowie XL2411P Capped at 60 FPS despite having all 144hz settings!

I just recently realised my monitor was capped at 60Hz despite being a 144Hz one so i went into my display settings and changed it to 144Hz, the issue is its capped at 60 still. In all games and on the UFO FPS testing site its 60FPS despite having no cap. I'm using both the Displayport cable that came with the monitor and an HDMI 1.4 cable because without the HDMI cable my monitor doesn't get signal. Please help!

make sure windows is set to 144hz
hdmi is often the limiting factor, try dp or dl-dvi-d cable instead
unplug the hdmi cable
make sure the display is set to dp/dvi-d input

1. My windows is set to 144Hz
2. I am using a DP cable
3. If i unplug the HDMI cable i get no signal
4. How do I do that
