GameWorks and Freestyle vs AMD alternatives?
So, tomorrow (28 Oct 2020) is supposed to be AMDs announcement of their next GPUs, and I'm waiting to see what they have to offer before making upgrade plans, but I have not used a Radeon GPU since before they were purchased by AMD, so I want to get a better picture of the pros and cons of each brand beyond raw performance.

The cost and performance of the 3070 seem like it would be a good fit, but if AMD offers competion witn more VRAM (8GB may be fine for 1440p now, but I'm apprehensive about 2-3 years from now) or simply better cost/performance value, I could change my mind and give them a try.

My current GPU is a GTX 670 4GB, so I have not actually been able to benefit from GameWorks or Freestyle, but they both sound like good reasons to stick with Nvida, but I know AND has open source equivalents to at least some of the GameWorks features. What I don't know is how well supported those are and if the image quality is equivalent or different.

I am particularly interested in if AMD has an equivalent to Nvidia Freestyle since I am a moderate proton (colorblind), so that sounds like a realy enticing feature (colorblind filters for games that don't otherwise offer colorblind settings).

Thanks for any insights on these topics.
